I moved (retired) to Stayner from Mississauga in 2017.My first purchase was a new 2 stage Cub Cadet snow blower, with the bigger engine.
This year, the auger cable on my Cub Cadet snow blower broke, so I ordered one on Amazon that arrived the next day. Installed it, started the machine, and it broke within 2 minutes. I was convinced that the "replacement" cable had the wrong spring on the end of it (way too strong), causing the cable to break.
Decided to call Walker's and talk to someone familiar with snowblowers. Scottie answered the phone, looked up the part number and told me the latest part number that addressed the spring issue as well as indicated that he had them in stock.
I went to Walker's to pick up the cable and sure enough, the new cable had a significantly weaker spring. Scottie took the time to show me on his computer screen how the assembly went together and also warned me that after installing the new cable, do not install the pulley cover, start the machine, engage the auger, and observe how the tensioning pulley operates. If it is "bouncing", the V belt is worn unevenly and will quickly break the new cable.
Sure enough, he was right and it was bouncing. I returned and bought a new belt. Scottie then described (warned) me that there was a "brake mechanism" underneath the bottom pulley and if the belt was not routed properly, it would quickly break. Again he took the time to show me pictures of all this on his computer screen.
I went home, disassembled the machine, and discovered the spring that engages the braking mechanism was also broken. Trip number 3 to Walker's and Scottie gave me the new spring.
Reassembled everything, fired up the machine without the pulley cover on, and couldn't believe how smoothly things operated.
I just want to give credit where credit is due:
Scottie, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!
You saved me experiencing several pitfalls by taking the time to explain the potential issues that may have caused a simple "cable break" to become a troubleshooting nightmare.
My snowblower now runs soooooo smoothly, that I cannot tell when I engage the auger if it is actually operating or not.
Walker's is now my go to place for any small engine issues.

Superb service. Courteous staff. Understood the description of the problems. Snowblower now functions better than new. Idle speed was bad. Carburetor needed some cleaning. Idles great now and runs strong full throttle. The transmission reverse gear was extremely slow in R2, didn't move in R1. After adjustments the R1 is half of R2 (which is now at walking pace). Thank you.

I brought my trimmer in to be serviced, for carb issues. They replaced my fuel lines which had just been done 1 month prior, as well as the spark plug which had just been replaced. The employee when picking up said I don’t know, maybe it needed redoing. Zero trust in these guys now, won’t be bring back any of my stuff back here

The person, Scott, that served us was very helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend Walker's Small Motors if you're looking for landscaping equipment or if you need your equipment serviced or repaired.

Did a great job at fixing my lawnmower. Reasonably priced too. Very knowledgeable staff. Probably the best place to buy a snowblower or lawnmower in the area.
